Pop Up Popcorn - a great novelty card !

  You will need; •Green glitter card, A5 •White smooth card (240gsm) •Popcorn Rubber Stamp (Crafter’s Companion) •StaZon Stamp Pad in Black or Grey •Purple stamp pad, any brand •Brown “magic” double sided tape •Card making scoring board. •Watercolour pencils or paints.

  Stamp your Popcorn image using StaZon Ink onto the white card. Colour in the image using watercolour pencils or paints. Cut out. Now take A5 sheet of glitter card and on a scoring board fold your card half A5, turning it onside out so that the glitter or right sides are together.  On one half of the card blank score a gatefold A5 line     ( half again ) in reverse so that the fold is back on itself. Finally on the same half of the card blank as this  gatefold line, you will need to score another line ½ ” to the side of the original. If using an Ultimate you can use the box making lines. The card should sand up on its own leaning back slightly.

  Finish card by sticking Popcorn to the front flap using the brown tape, and you add a stamped greeting to the background using the purple stamp pad. This card fold flat for posting and fits nicely into a 6″ square envelope.

  TIP:  Why not try Sakura stardust pens to colour in your image. These watercolour beautifully and leave stunning sparkle effect on your work.

Today was the last Thursday afternoon of the current school term for our Afterschool Kids Craft Club in Rothwell.

It was a very successful term, enjoyed by all members, and pictured here is Adam, from Desborough - he is proud to have finished his hand painted pen holder !!

Craft Emporium “The Angel Within” are no stranger to Nimble Fingerz - customers who have been with us since the earlier days in Desborough will remember the selection of beautiful Gifts, Crystals and Spiritual Items that we had available.  Well - Becky Lambert from The Angel Within is expanding her emporium within Nimble Fingerz and is moving to the new downstairs venue next to our main shop.

There will be an opening celebration on Saturday 9th May - from 10am.  FREE refreshments, cakes and the such like. PLUS a chance for you to take part in a crafting Make and Take day - only £3 for a kit to make up your own card while you wait.

Do come along and support us - we will also be proud to support Rothwell’s Very own Cross Stitch club in their sale of hand stitched items in aid of MacMillan Cancer Relief PLUS local crafters selling their hand made cards to support the BLIND.

Is it Saturday Night Fever John ??

Well we went to the Desborough Shopping Event last night - it was well organised by local company “Sparkling Style” and there were a lovely group of stall holders in attendance. You could choose from a range of hand crafted gifts and jewellery, plus the all important Craft Supplies and Haberdashery from us at Nimble Fingerz.  Unfortunately it was a quiet night for us, but several stalls did quite well and we would like to thank the organisers for inviting us to take part.  My hubbie John also took part with his Forever Living Products stall - he had a wonderful time as you can see from the pic !!!

Our next Craft Fair is to be Saturday 9th May all day at St Giles Church hall in Desborough.

I will be demonstrating some basic card making techniques so why not pop along and join us ?

February Half Term was the ideal opportunity for us to hold a couple of morning children’s craft workshops at the main workshop site in Rothwell.  Following the theme of the very recent snowy weather, the children took great pleasure in making up these snowy landscape mobiles.  They used a variety of glitters, paints and glues to put them together and a great time was had by all.

Fun Had by All at Nimble Fingerz Craft Playscheme

Hey Everyone

Very Very Longtime no BLOG. Well we’ve gone and done it. Nimble Fingerz has now moved from Desborough to Rothwell. At great expense and stress we have achieved stability and are no longer fighting the ongoing planning issue for Desborough.

Many apologies to any of our valued customers who have trecked to Desborough hoping to find the old craft shop still open. You will now find us in Rothwell, accessed from School Lane ( side of Calvary Church) or via the Arts & heritage Centre when it is open.

We are in the Museum Courtyard, which is a listed building area and we have 3 rooms now - including the all important place to stop and chat and enjoy a cuppa !!

We are open 6 days a week; from 10am til 4pm at the moment ( closed Sundays ) and are working on an opening of 9am for the New Year.
