George - 7lb 13oz
Introducing the youngest NEW crafter in the Nimble Fingerz Team !
After 9 long months, and several heat waves, I finally had the baby …
on 9th June 2010, we had a little boy - weighing 7lb 13oz, born by C Section. We have called him George Benjamin John - isn’t he gorgeous ?
I am sore but happy - and looking forward to getting back behind the driving seat and on with the crafting workshops.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to Sue and Becky who have taken the reigns on the business whilst I have been off and to all of you for the wonderful well wishes, gifts and cards.

Morris Mania, NEW William Morris Fabric
I am soooo excited to have this yummy new fabric in the shop. William Morris, Morris Mania, NEW for 2010 from Fabric Freedom.
We have it available for the special price of only £8 per metre throughout June, that’s just £2 for a fat quarter.
We have 5 divine prints from original William Morris designs. The large print is the pink colourway, the medium print is the turquoise blue colourway ( and we have an excellent plain match in the shop for this particular turquoise )
Watch this space for a photo of the fininshed sample I am in the process of making. Hourglass blocks ala William Morris !!

Great ideas on how to add a simple “distressing” effect with Tim Holtz distress ink -
I love to use the refill pots for these as they are much cheaper - and so versatile. Simply pop a pea sized amount onto a cheap ceramic wall tile. Then using a piece of cut and dry foam, apply small brush overs of the ink around the edge of your card ready for matting and layering or for an embellishment.

Yeay… I did it !! Thank you to everyone who has shown me such wonderful support, I have finally passed the PCA Parchment Craft Tutors‘ Certificate.
As a result the parchment classes at the shop for the next month are filling rapidly, so if you were looking to book, then please get in now to avoid disappointment.
I also want to extend a massive thank you to Pauline Loweth, who has been such an inspiration to me and at the risk of sounding corny… “Has taught me everything I know!! ”

I have been asked by a couple of friends to enlarge the butterfly design as seen on my final sampler piece earlier in my blog.It is quite a dark image I’m afraid as I am no photographer -but I hope you can see the detail.

PCA Tutor Sampler

WOW - parchment Craft by Josie Davison
The other weekend, whilst on a Projects in Parchment weekend with Pauline Loweth at Horncastle College - I had the pleasure of meeting with Josie Davison once again. What a talented lady - reverred in the industry, she constantly writes a tutorial column for Parchment Craft Magazine. She bought several pieces of her work with her to show us, and I have to say I was once again speechless at the superb parching and fabulous designs.
I am so glad that I have chosen to turn this hobby into an area to teach - the lace work and the perfection in embossing is so addictive.
If you would like to try Parchment Craft - then why not book onto my Beginners to Intermediate classes next month. See the Workshop and Courses section of our website for more details.
Nat xx
Also - please remember that we are proud to be included on The Best of Market Harborough and The Best of Kettering as one of the BEST businesses in the area. If you love our service, please go onto one of their websites and leave us a testimonial. THANK YOU

What a request …. can the team at Nimble Fingerz please help out Holy Trinity Parish Church, Rothwell. We have the licensing service for the new vicar coming up and we would like to hang some quilted frontals to the choir stalls reading “Alleluia”
Well - Sue and I rose to the challenge, and with me moving house in the middle of it too !!! We were most proud ot be asked to produce these pieces and I was even prouder to be encouraged to sing with the choir during the celebration service. John Westwood, is our new priest in charge for the benefice, and so far appears to be doing a wonderful job and is welcomed by all.
The patchwork that we used to produce these choir stall frontals, was a basic, oversized pinwheel block in 2 pairs. I used a white basic print and gold tivoli scroll fabric from Makower. We then apliqued on the lettering, from a variety of Makower and Timeless Treasures fabric - the secret ingredient being the Bondaweb. Top stitched with a rainbow YLI machine quilting thread for effect - and here we are.
For more details on saving on these fabulous products, please check out our website at the patchwork and quilting section.

The finished piece
Well… after nearly 2 years of hard work, I am ready to send off the tutor sampler for marking to Pauline Loweth. For those of you who don’t already know, I am keen to become a fully qualified PCA Parchment Craft Tutor. Pauline is the UK examiner for Parchcraft Australia and as many will agree, a UK wide inspiration to all us parchers !! If you look back via this link to one of my blogs later last year, you will see what great fun we had had when Pauline herself came to teach a Parchment Retreat Weekend at the shop.
I am biting my nails over this one…. keep your fingers crossed for me.
In the meantime, if you would like to look at our PCA and Pergamano products available on the website, please go to .. HERE
